Steiner Education aims to produce individuals who are able, in and of themselves, to impart meaning to their lives.

In 2022, we opened this new high school campus with our pioneering Class 7.

The new Parkerville Steiner College is a continuation of the long-running High School and curriculum already in place at Bibra Lake.

We are located at 695 Roland Road, Parkerville, next door to the established Silver Tree Steiner School.

Perth Waldorf School Aim

To provide an education of the highest quality so our students become balanced adult individuals, having developed clarity of thinking, sensitivity of feeling and strength of will. We strive to:

  • Inspire within the children a love of learning, a morality that strives for goodness, an appreciation of beauty and a pursuit of truth.
  • Provide our students with knowledge, skills and the means to work competently in the world.
  • Provide our students with values that will enable them to find their path in life.
  • Inspire a sense of wonder at, and a healthy positive connection to, the world, arising from a knowledge of and responsibility toward the individuality of themselves and others.
  • Inspire a sense of the spiritual dimension of life as well as a healthy respect for the physical.

Parkerville Steiner College Founding Teachers

Katie Southall – Class 7 Teacher

Katie is the current Class 6 teacher at Silver Tree Steiner School, having held this class since they began together in 2016 as Class 1’s.

Katie’s involvement with Steiner Education extends many years before that in her role as Classroom Assistant, and Waldorf Parent.  Before studying teaching, she worked as a Youth Worker, supporting homeless and at-risk teenagers.

In 2022, Katie will guide her current class to their next milestone, to high school, and then welcome each new Class 7 group in 2023 and 2024.

Katie has a wealth of teaching experience with the Steiner Curriculum, a deep knowledge of Anthroposophy, as well as a passion for the historical content which forms the cornerstone of the Class 7 Steiner Curriculum.

Donna Bieundurry – Teacher and Administration

Donna will be bringing her deep understanding of the Steiner curriculum and Anthroposophy, offering learning support, taking a range of classes in collaboration with Katie and helping to manage all the non-educational aspects, administrative tasks and the various logistics of the new campus.

Donna comes with a rich knowledge of teaching in a range of schools, as well as extensive management and leadership experience. Donna holds a particular interest in Australian Indigenous culture, and seeks to provide educational experiences that develop a connection to place and the natural world.  Donna’s most recent position was Head of School at Silver Tree Steiner School.

Why choose Steiner education?

Steiner aims is to educate the whole child, “head, heart and hands”.

With a curriculum as broad as time will allow, which balances academics subjects with artistic and practical activities.

Our teachers are dedicated to creating a genuine love of learning within each child.
By freely using arts and activities in the service of teaching academics, an internal motivation to learn is developed in the students, doing away with the need for competitive testing and grading.
